If you are going to sew anything, the chances are likely that you’ll have dots, squares or lines that need to be traced onto your fabric. But these markings are there to help you sew your project! Knowing how to transfer them properly can make all the difference.
You can use one or all of these: tailor’s chalk, marking pencil, and transfer paper. To mark with chalk, place pins where the dots on the pattern go. I use chalk for dots and transfer paper for lines.
For transfer paper, use tape for pattern paper reinforcement. Line up the transfer paper to your fabric, position the pattern piece on top, and use pins to hold it together. Trace the lines with your tracing wheel and press firmly.
